Simpson was born in South Carolina (probably Edgefield District). He was the child of William Williams and Martha Wells. Shortly after his birth the family moved from SC to Christian County, KY. They purchased land about 10 miles north of Hopkinsville, KY. His father and grandfather had hunted in this area when they lived in SC. In the Fall of 1827, Simpson and his brothers left for Perry County, IL. His father, William, had purchased the land by Tamaroa and tried to settle it about 10 years earlier, but the Indians drove him off. There is no marriage record for Simpson and Alaphar. There is a marriage record for Simpson and Margery. They married in 1833. Simpson died in 1837.

Simpson died without a will. Here are the papers from the court (click here). Simpson has been the missing link in the family line. The line stopped at Fidelio and his father was never known. In the summer of 2010, I had my DNA tested and a match to the Williams from Greenville and Edgefield Districts in SC were found. For over a year we researched for a connection. Bonnie Ward Williamson found the documents in Perry County. Sue DeLaporte secured copies of the documents. Thanks to all in helping on this.
