Priscilla was born in Bond County, IL to John Warren West and Sally Smith. Her fraternal grandmother, Millie "Sewatchie" Gentry was Cherokee. In the 1870's the West family tried to prove their heritage but were denied. Priscilla married James Anderson Stone on 14 Jul 1853. No marriage record has been found. James fought in the Civil War and was in in Company A of the 9th MO Sharpshooters. He was mortally wounded in the battle of Helena. Priscilla and family were harassed by the Union soldiers and moved to Moniteau County. She never did remarry. She was living with her eldest daughter, Elizabeth Stone Sone at the time of her death. She died in Jefferson City, MO on 6 Aug 1916 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery.
