Mary Agnes was born on 11 Jul 1857 in Keokuk to Laurence Gilltrap and Mary O'Malley. Shortly after her birth the family moved to Jersey County, IL (near Jerseyville). By the 1870 census Mary and family were living near Martinsburg, MO. They had a farm that was two farms west of where Milton lived. Mary and Milton married on 18 Feb 1875. No record of the marriage has been found. After the marriage they farmed near Martinsburg. In Feb 1883, James Corder died and Milton and Mary bought out all of Milton's siblings (two sisters and two brothers). They lived on this farm until Jan 1890 when they lost the farm due to a default on a loan. They moved to Mexico. Milton left the family around 1905 due to his drinking. Mary moved to Quincy in 1913 and lived with her daughter Elsie (Anna Elizabeth) and her husband, Thomas Williams. She was living with them when she died in 1949. She is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Quincy.
